Prehistoric Tattoo
(Ongoing)
The Prehistoric Tattooing Project is something done with the Archeological Research Institute. The project is an experimental archaeology project that tests different hand poke needles from the time of the woodlands, pre-contact. The goal is to test, based on research and what the different tribes say, would work as a tattooing needle and see why some things weren't used.
There's a lot more that is going into the project than initially thought. Originally the idea, as stated by the creator of the project Logan, was to test out copper needles, porcupine quills, and bone needles. Now that the fourth week is almost finished a lot has been added. There will be tests with feather needles, coiled pots are being made to hold the pigments used in making inks, and natural cordage is being made for the lids of those pots.
